Four steps, in the order the return needs them

The same sequence runs inside Vestly for every financial year. It moves forward only when the figures do, so the schedule you finish with is one you have actually checked, not one a progress bar said was done.

  1. 1Review figuresYour tax position for the year, computed from the rent and expenses you have logged, with the source of every figure shown.
  2. 2Resolve blockersAnything that would make the figures wrong is named: rental use not yet confirmed, an estimate standing in for a real amount, an expense with no receipt attached.
  3. 3Review and confirmYou check each line. Nothing is marked ready by a green light alone; a figure that still needs a document stays flagged until it has one.
  4. 4Generate and shareThe rental schedule laid out on the ATO lines for myTax, or the whole pack as PDF or CSV for your accountant, with a read-only share link if you prefer.

What goes on the rental schedule

These are the lines the ATO asks for, in the order myTax and most accountants present them. Vestly maps each expense you log to one of them as you go, so at tax time the sorting is already done and the question is only whether each line has its record.

Rates and thresholds are not quoted on this page on purpose. They change each 1 July and Vestly applies the current ones inside your account, where the figure can be checked against its source.

Before you start

Does Vestly lodge my tax return?

No. Vestly prepares the rental schedule and the supporting pack from your records and shows you what still needs attention. You lodge through myTax yourself, or give the schedule to your registered tax agent. Vestly is software, not a tax agent, and it does not give tax advice.

What if I use an accountant?

The same schedule, in the order your accountant expects it, with each expense mapped to its ATO rental schedule label and the documents attached. You can email it, download it as PDF or CSV, or share a read-only link. Your accountant is not asked to sign off on Vestly's work; they review the matters you engage them for.

I have not tracked anything this year. Is it too late?

No. Add the property, import or enter the year's rent and expenses, attach the statements you have, and the schedule builds from that. Anything without a record is flagged rather than assumed, so you know exactly what is still worth chasing before the return is due.

When is it due?

The Australian financial year ends on 30 June. If you lodge your own return, 31 October is your date. Lodging through a registered tax agent generally gives you longer, provided you are on their client list in time; confirm the date with your agent.

What does it cost?

Every account starts with a 14-day card-required trial. Tracking is Vestly Core; the rental schedule, the readiness checks and the pack are included with Vestly Pro. Both are month to month and you can cancel any time.
